For over 30 years we have been involved in the West London property market and we have always been super proud of our Shepherd’s Bush home.  Our office is only a few minutes walk to Shepherds Bush Green, we can nip into Westfield on our lunch break (cannot guarantee to be back on time) and we can socialise in the amazing bars and restaurants, or catch a gig at Shepherds Bush Empire.

The name Shepherd’s Bush is derived from the green, which is where shepherds used to rest on their way into London for market day!  The Shepherd’s Bush area was entirely rural until the late 18th century when houses started to appear along the main roads, followed by terraces to the north. Of course, time never stands still and by 1830 semi-detached houses were going up on the west side of the green but fields still lay to the south for several more decades.

So we never see sheep on the green now, there isn’t too much open space left, so that is why at Austin D’arcy we make sure that there are many sheep to be found in our office and on our website.
